Tetrahydrofuran
- Applications of THF
- Reacting THF can be used as a solvent for natural and synthetic resins. Special vinyl can be used as a surface coating solution, polymer coating, cellophane, protective coating, adhesion agent, magnetic tape and printing ink.
- THF can be acquired by dehydrating butanediol. Industrially, it is an important solvent for many substances such as PVC, polyvinyl acetic ester, polyester, sodium polyacrylate, natural and synthetic resins.
- It can also be used for coating, printing ink, succinic acid, adipic acid and gelatin. THF reacts with ammonia to form C4H9N.
- THF is also an industrial medium of BD synthesis
